Joann Bassa

Joann Bassa ,42, of Houston departed this life on November 7, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 18,2017 at JESUS - the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth, Inc. in Temple. Joann Bassa was born on February 20, 1975 in Temple TX at Scott& White to Mary Jane Lara. She was the oldest child to one sibling. Joann attended school in Little River- Academy. Later moving to Temple attending TISD. She received her GED and continue her education taking classes at Temple College. She work in many positions in life restaurants, front desk CSR at Hotels, big companies like E.R. Carpenter, and McLean. She moved to Houston TX in 2003. She attended LongStar College and work for SMA. Joann moved back and forth from Houston to Temple over the years. Yet she had made Houston her city and home of choice. Joann was small in size, but huge in Love and giving. Always wanting to do for others if she had the means to do so. She was preceded in death by her father ,Munroe Hurst; her mother, Mary Jane Lara, and grandparents, Juan and Juanita Bassa. She Is survived by her son, Frederick Morrison of Austin;two daughters, Jodesty L. Morrison and Kayla M. Green both of Houston; one sister, Misty D. Lara of Austin; two nieces, Vanessa Carol of Jacksonville Florida and Patiance N. Alexander of Temple; two nephews, Santiago Estrada and Matthew Estrada both of Saint Marcus; four uncles, Bobby Lara and wife, Sherry of Belton , Travis Lara and wife, Monica of Holland, Daniel ""Butch"" Lara and wife,Monica of Heidenheimre, and J. Bassa ans wife, Cheryl "" ET"" ( Juanita, and Jessica) of Temple;one aunt, Julia Ybarra of Temple. Her adopted family the Freemans and a host of other adoring relatives, and devoted friends.
