Our History

Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services was founded in November of 2011 by mother and daughter, Debra Crotty and Jarrah Crotty, with a shared vision—to raise the standard of care for families in Central Texas.

Debra Crotty entered the funeral profession not by inheritance, but by calling. After working her way through mortuary school as a cosmetologist, she became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in 1996, at a time when the profession was largely male-dominated. Over the next two decades, she served in leadership roles across numerous respected funeral homes throughout Central Texas and with Service Corporation International (SCI), managing multiple locations and gaining invaluable experience in every aspect of funeral service.

Jarrah Crotty grew up watching her mother serve families with compassion and strength, developing a deep passion for the profession at an early age. She graduated from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 2010 and quickly became known for her creativity and ability to design meaningful, highly personalized services that truly celebrate each life.

Together, they combined experience, heart, and vision to create something different—something deeply personal, family-centered, and rooted in genuine care.

That vision became Crotty Funeral Home.

Since opening, Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services has grown into one of the most trusted and recognized funeral homes in Central Texas. Their commitment to excellence and compassionate care has earned them multiple “Best in Central Texas” recognitions, as well as statewide honors, including Jarrah Crotty being named Young Professional of the Year by the Texas Funeral Service Association.

As the needs of the community grew, so did their vision. Today, Crotty Funeral Home is proud to serve families from a beautifully designed, state-of-the-art facility in Belton, Texas. Thoughtfully created with families in mind, the nearly 8,000-square-foot funeral home features a spacious chapel, reception areas, private family rooms, a full kitchen, and warm, welcoming gathering spaces—all designed to provide comfort, peace, and a place for meaningful connection during life’s most difficult moments.
