Gesina Helen ""Sherry"" Hines

Gesina Helen "Sherry" Saunder Hines, 84, of Nolanville passed away as the result of a tragic house fire on January 24, 2018. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Grace Christian Center, in Killeen, with Pastor Steve Martin officiating. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, in Nolanville. Sherry was born on December 4, 1933 in Germany. She met the man of her dreams Marvin Elton Hines while he was stationed in Germany and they were married on February 17, 1962. Sherry obtained an Associate's Degree in Education and taught in Germany for several years. Her husband was relocated to Fort Hood Military base and she owned and operated a Childcare center out of their home for over 40 years. If Sherry had the names of all the children she cared for over the years there would be 1000's. She cared for up to caring for the third generations of some of her kids when she finally retired. Sherry enjoyed going to garage sales. She was named the "Garage Sale Queen" by many. She loved working in her yard, watching political shows, and being surrounded by her family. Sherry was preceded in death by her loving husband, of over 50 years, Marvin Elton Hines in 2012, her son Eddie Hines in 2001, her daughter, Denise Hines, and granddaughter, Skylar Hines on January 24, 2018, her sisters, Margaret Saunder, and Tea Saunders. She is survived by, her two sons, Robert "Bobby" Hines and Scott Hines of Troy; her seven grandchildren, Seth Little of Nolanville, Andrew Hines, Zachary Hines, Emily Hines, Abigail Hines, all of Troy, Robert Hines, and Meg Hines, both of Garland.
