Alma Mae
Pruitt
November 19, 1937 — August 16, 2026
Alma Mae Pruitt, affectionately known to her family and friends as “Sissom,” 88, passed away peacefully in Temple, Texas, on August 16, 2026. She was born on November 19, 1937, in San Saba, Texas.
Throughout her life, Alma was guided by her faith and devoted to the people and things she loved most—her family, faith and home. Alma was the beloved wife of Clarence Pruitt and a devoted mother to Terry, Willie, Zona, and Victoria. Her family was the greatest joy of her life. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, treasuring the time she spent with them and the many memories they made together.
Alma had a special love for animals. She found great joy in raising them and could not turn away from any critters in need. She would often bring injured critters home, patiently caring for them and nursing them back to health. Above all, Alma was a devoted Christian. Her faith was at the heart of her life and guided her through both joyful and difficult times. She lived her faith each day through her deep devotion to God, her steadfast trust in Him, and the love, grace, and compassion she showed to her family and everyone around her.
Alma will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Though she is no longer with us, her love, faith, kindness, and devotion to her family will never be forgotten. The lessons she taught, the critters she cared for, and the countless memories she created will remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
