It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Anthony Michael Asuncion Jr. on February 10, 2026. Born on May 19, 2010, in Fort Stewart, Georgia, Anthony brought a boundless joy and vibrancy to the world in his brief time with us. His departure from this life, at the tender age of fifteen, has left a void that will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege to know him.
Anthony was cherished for his intelligence, sincerity, and an infectious laughter that could light up even the darkest of days. He was a reliable presence, always eager to lend a helping hand, particularly to his beloved siblings. He took great pride in his family and wore his heart on his sleeve, embodying a sincerity that resonated with everyone he encountered. "He said what he meant and meant what he said," a sentiment that speaks volumes of his character.
As a student of Harker Heights High School, Anthony showcased his athletic spirit as a proud member of the Knights football team, donning jersey number 25. His passion for sports was paralleled only by his devotion to playing video games, with favorites including Fortnite, Minecraft, and Madden, pursuits that connected him with friends and family in moments filled with laughter and friendly competition.
Anthony's warmth extended beyond immediate family; he was surrounded by a tapestry of loved ones who enriched his life. He is survived by his parents, Patricia and Tevin Thornton, as well as Anthony Michael Asuncion Sr. and Bequna, his four brothers and five sisters, as well as his beloved cousin Brooke Graves, and his dearest friend Mykah Milan. We also remember his aunts, Casey Brown and Erica Smith, and uncles Reginald Jefferson, Denzel Hall, and Christopher Asuncion Jr.; his grandparents, Clarence (Jr.) and Ruby Brown, James Peters Jr., as well as Chris and Denise Hazelton, and great-grandparents Joann Brown and Lucille Jeanpierre mourn his loss deeply.
Upon his passing, Anthony was reunited with several family members who departed this world before him: his great-grandparents Alvin and Annie Jefferson, James Peters Sr., Christopher Asuncion, and Clarence Brown Sr., Frances Renee Graham; as well as great uncle Alvin Charles Jefferson. As we gather to honor his memory, let us remember a young soul who touched our lives with love, laughter, and a sense of loyalty that was unparalleled.
Visitation services to celebrate Anthony’s life will be held on February 17, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services, located at 5431 U.S. Hwy 190, Belton, Texas 76513.
Though his time was fleeting, the impact of his spirit will resonate in the hearts of his family and friends, forever a beacon of joy and warmth in their memories.
