Barbara Louise Manuel, age 80, of Temple, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025. Born on January 20, 1945, in Santa Rosa, California, Barbara lived a life rooted in love, family, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished most. Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose presence filled every room with warmth and grace. She dedicated her life to her family, always placing their needs and happiness above her own. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love — a constant reminder of the strength of her heart and her commitment to family.
Barbara’s faith in God was shown not through words alone, but through the way she lived — with kindness, compassion, and a steadfast love for her family. She embodied true selflessness, making countless sacrifices for others and demonstrating the purest meaning of unconditional love. Her gentle spirit, paired with a wonderful sense of humor, could brighten any moment and lift the hearts of those around her. The love she poured into her family, and the joy she brought into our lives, will continue to sustain us and bring smiles to our faces until we are reunited with her in Heaven.
She is survived by her daughters, Geneva Cox and Teresa Cazares; grandchildren Kevin Cox, Sherre Pruett, Jody Cox, Christy Manuel, Jordan Manuel, Josh Cazares, AJ Cazares, and Tina Cazares; great-grandchildren Kelby, Katie, Bri, Cameron, Kaleb, Heaven, Micayla, Jordan, Maddie, Hunter, Mason, Brycen, Jody Jr., Carson, Rylie, Hayden, Stetson, Gabriel, Tucker, and Kambri; and great-great-grandchild Julie. Each carries forward Barbara’s love and the values she instilled.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesse Eugene Manuel; her parents Oneta and John Birmingham; and her grandson Kelby Cox. We find peace in knowing she is reunited with them in eternal rest.
Barbara’s legacy is one of strength, faith, grace, and unconditional love — a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
Services will be held at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton, Texas, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and celebrate a beautiful life well-lived.
