Belvred Lawrence Jack
October 30, 1949 - July 18, 2025
Belvred Lawrence Jack, 75, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Belvred (BJ) was a man of deep faith, a father, a grandfather, a brother, an uncle, and a friend.
BJ was born in Plainview, Texas along with his twin sister, Madonna, on October 30, 1949 to Durward and Flora Lee Jack. He grew up alongside his twin sister on the family farm in Lockney, Texas. After graduating from Lockney High School, he continued his education at Texas Tech University. He spent most of his professional career working as a food broker for Synergy Food Group. On the side, he also enjoyed working as a Licensed Texas Auctioneer. He spent much of his life in the panhandle of Texas as well as the DFW area before moving to Waco to be close to his grown children and grandchildren in 2021.
He was a devoted Christian who spent time over the years attending various Churches of Christ wherever he lived. His faith in Jesus Christ was personal and life-long. He spent his life walking with Jesus and we are comforted in knowing that his journey of faith did not end when he passed.
"Every day’s a good day. Some days are just better than others,” is a phrase BJ would say that showcased his positivity and cheerful outlook on life. Even when faced with a journey through cancer, he held onto the joy. We know that the joy of the Lord was his strength to carry him through his days. When asked his age, BJ would always reply with, “I’m four. “ He embodied being a “big” kid with his optimism and child-like happiness.
BJ loved to collect items he saw as treasures. Whether toy cars or old coins, he enjoyed adding things to his collections over time. He experienced the most joy in recent years as he helped his son, Justin, open Action Jacks’ Toys & Collectibles. BJ loved chatting with customers and spending time in the store, but mostly enjoyed the time he spent with Justin working together.
Moving to Waco in 2021 afforded BJ more time to be with his 2 grown children and 7 grandchildren. Holidays, birthdays, ball games, school events, and other family gatherings were such a gift to all members of the family.
Belvred was preceded in death by his parents, Durwood & Flora Lee Jack, brother-in-law, Otto Schacht, and nephew Jackie-Don Schacht. He is survived by his son, Justin Jack and wife Kristin, his daughter, Heidi Wells and husband Brent, his twin sister, Madonna Schacht, seven grandchildren, Tyler Casebolt, Savannah Jack, Carter Jack, Addison Jack, Holland Wells, Jack Wells and Zy Wells, nephew Fritz Schacht and grand-nephew Sam Schacht.
There will be a gathering to celebrate and remember Belvred Lawrence Jack at a date and location to be determined this fall in the Lockney/Plainview area.
