Bessie Louise Perkins

Bessie Louise Perkins, 84, of Belton passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at a local nursing home. Funeral services for Bessie will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton. Her burial will follow at Perkins Ranch Cemetery in Belton. Bessie was born on July 9, 1933 to Henry and Alice Perkins in Norman, OK. She worked as a nurse's aid at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in the 60's but spent most of her life as a rancher and lived in Alaska for over 14 years. Bessie enjoyed building, remodeling, sitting on the porch, being outside, westerns, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Alice Perkins; her brothers, Preston Jim Perkins, and Billy Joe Perkins; her sisters, Alice Faye Jones, Wanda Pearl Daniels, and her granddaughter, Alaicia Kiser. Bessie is survived by her sons, Gordon ""Ray"" Kiser and wife, Pattie of Glennallen AK, Richard Lee Sherwood of Belton, and Sid Perkins Sherwood and wife, Debbie of Belton; her daughter, Kelly Jo Sherwood of Belton; her brothers, Henry Blaine Perkins of Wasilla, AK, and Dave E. Perkins of Eagle River, AK; her sister Treva Sue Morris of Copperas Cove; nine grandchildren, James Sherwood, Crystal Price, Robert Price II, Sidney Sherwood, Bethany Sherwood, Randy Sherwood, Ricky Sherwood, Kendra Erving, and Jacobe Kiser; seven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials will memorials may be made to Perkins Ranch Cemetery in Belton. Arrangements are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
