Carolyn Kay Hampton, known lovingly to family and friends as KK, passed away on April 21, 2026, in Belton, Texas, and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior at the age of 87.
Carolyn was born on September 16, 1938 in Olive Hill, Kentucky. She was a Christian woman whose life reflected a quiet strength and a sincere love for others. Those who knew her will remember her as loving, generous, and thoughtful, and these words beautifully describe the way she lived each day.
Carolyn graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She later worked in the banking industry, where she was known for her dependability and gracious manner. In all that she did, she demonstrated integrity and care, and she touched the lives of many through both her work and her personal relationships. Carolyn was the kind of person who made others feel valued, and her presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her.
Above all else, Carolyn cherished her family. She found great joy in spending time with her loved ones and treasured the simple blessings of shared conversation, laughter, and togetherness. She especially loved coffee and enjoyed sitting on the porch in the summer during the evening, taking in the peace of the day. She appreciated the small, meaningful things and understood that some of life’s richest gifts are found spending moments with those we love.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Hazel Gearhart, her brother Melvin Gearhart, and her beloved husband, Truett Hampton. She is survived by her son, Todd Hyer; daughter-in-law, Melissa Hyer; grandson, Cole Hyer; granddaughter, Avery Hyer; and her great-grandson, Dawson Hyer. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she was deeply proud of her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she helped shape and in the many memories they will continue to carry forward.
Carolyn’s life was grounded in her faith, and she lived with the hope that comes from trusting in God’s promises. She was a woman who believed in the goodness of the Lord, and her life served as a quiet witness to that belief. Her kindness, patience, and loving nature were a blessing to all who knew her.
As her loved ones gather to honor her memory, they do so with gratitude for a life well lived and with comfort in the assurance of God’s everlasting care. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and devotion that will continue to inspire her family for generations to come.
May Carolyn Kay Hampton rest in the peace of Christ, and may her loved ones find strength in the Lord as they remember her beautiful life.
