Cathy Lee Schreifels, 74, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026, in Temple, Texas after an extended illness. Born on September 21, 1951, in Corsicana, Texas, Cathy was the daughter of the late Robert and Erma Grantham. She grew up in Alice, Texas and graduated from William Adams High School in 1970.

She was a Christian, and her family takes comfort in the promise of her faith and in knowing she is now resting in the presence of her Lord.

Cathy had a passion for decorating, always finding joy in transforming the ordinary into something beautiful. She was an excellent planner as evidenced by her countless spiral notebooks brimming with ideas for potential projects. Cathy had a friendly demeanor and never met a stranger, a testament to her genuine and welcoming nature.

Cathy will be remembered as a fun-loving mom who enjoyed "cruising around" listening to music, singing, dancing, embarking on adventures, and ensuring holidays were always memorable for her children.

She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Schreifels of Temple, Texas; her children, Carrie Mixon and husband James of George West, Texas, Cory Matula and wife Kasi of Shiner, Texas, and Glynna Schreifels of Temple, Texas; her grandchildren, Justin Bray, Tyler Mixon, Beau Mixon and wife Daria, Kade Matula, Kaleb Matula, and Kase Matula.

She is also survived by her brothers, Bob Grantham and wife Barbara of Spring Branch, Texas, Fred Grantham and wife Mary Ann of Inez, Texas, and her sister, Gwen Grantham, of Alpine, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
