Chad David Hartley,23, beloved son of Robert Hartley and Sheila Roberts, passed away on January 30, 2024, in Temple, Texas. He was born on September 27, 2000, in Newport News, Virginia.


Chad was a graduate of Temple High School, class of 2019. Following his education, he embarked on a fulfilling career at Baylor Scott & White as an EVS worker. Chad's commitment to his work and dedication to serving others was evident in the impact he made on those around him.


Outside of his professional life, Chad had an array of passions and interests that enriched his existence. He cherished spending time with his family and friends above all else. Whether engaging in stimulating conversations or sharing laughter-filled moments, Chad's company brought warmth and happiness to those fortunate enough to know him.


A devoted gamer, Chad found solace and excitement in the world of gaming. It allowed him to dive into immersive experiences and connect with people from all walks of life while exploring virtual realms. Additionally, Chad had an appreciation for country music


Beyond his hobbies and interests, Chad had a natural aptitude for working with his hands. He possessed a genuine love for trucks and dedicated countless hours to restoring old cars. Chad and his dad enjoyed remodeling different projects together. 


Chad will be dearly remembered by his surviving family members who include his loving father Robert Hartley of Temple; beloved mother Sheila Roberts of Newport News, VA; grandmother Joan Dillensneider of Hartfield, VA; brothers, Justin Hartley, Deron Kirby, and Christian Jones; sisters Shyann Karl and Rebecca Karl all of Temple. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. His presence in their lives will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever be cherished.


Visitation services to honor Chad's life will be held on February 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton. 

A funeral service will follow on Wednesday February 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Basilio Montez officiating.


Chad David Hartley touched the lives of many with his kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he cared about. May we celebrate his life and find solace in the beautiful memories he gifted us. Though he may no longer be physically present, his spirit will forever remain alive in our hearts. 

In Lieu of Flowers the family has asked donations be toward Chad's funeral expenses.
