Charles ""Pappy"" Gene Bishop

Charles ""Pappy"" Gene Bishop, 76, of Troy passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019 in a local hospital. Charles was born to Eunice and Willie Bishop on July 23, 1943 in Belton, Texas. Charles was a United States Army veteran, and put over 18 years of his life into truck driving. A visitation for Charles will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton. A second visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Crotty Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Charles is survived by his wife Betty Bishop; his sons, Bryan Bishop of Decatur, Texas, Cliff Bishop of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Stephen Bishop of Sierra Vista, Arizona; his daughter, Jeannie Bergland of Troy; his brothers, Marshall Bishop of Belton, Willie John Bishop of Temple, Alton Paul Bishop of Belton, and Terry Wayne Bishop of Killeen; his sisters, Margaret Bishop of Hamlin, Charlene Loos of Gastonian, North Carolina, and Veda Manty of North Field, Minnesota; his ten grandchildren, and his one great grandchild. Charles is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Norris Jurdon Bishop; and his sisters, Hattie Laverne Bishop, Linda Risden, and Lessa Chambers.
