Charlotte Ballard Emerson, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend, passed away on September 17, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on February 21, 1948, in White Plains, NY, Charlotte's vibrant spirit illuminated the lives of those around her.

Charlotte will be remembered for her contagious laughter and her unwavering passion for her family. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her loved ones, and they were the center of her universe. Her passing has left an immense void in the hearts of her family that she loved with every fiber of her being.

In addition to being a devoted mother and grandmother, Charlotte had a zest for life that was unparalleled. She found joy in simple pleasures such as cooking delicious meals, savoring a stiff drink, and spending quality time with her family. These shared moments created lasting bonds and became cherished memories that will forever be treasured.

Charlotte's proudest accomplishments revolved around her children. She raised them with unconditional love and provided them with a nurturing environment where they could thrive. Her selflessness and dedication as a mother were unmatched.

Throughout her life's journey, Charlotte experienced the profound loss of several dear family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Perry Ballard II on April 24, 2012; her mother Lewisene Elizabeth Purdy on July 25, 1952; and her beloved grandson, William Barsh on January 30, 2021. Their memories live on within Charlotte's heart.

Although Charlotte will be deeply missed by all who knew her, she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire future generations. She is survived by her stepmother, Evelyn Ballard; her sister, Carolyn Crommett; her brothers, Allen Perry Ballard III and his wife, Jeanette Ballard and Wayne Eugene Ballard and his wife, Vera Ballard; her daughters, Shannon Jordan and her husband, Mark Jordan, Stacy Barsh and her husband, Bill Barsh; her son, Justin Emerson and his wife, Angela Emerson; her grandchildren, Quencie Tarrant, Jordan Tarrant, Hunter Dillard, Kristin Hughes, Ashley Janke, Tucker Roberts, Landon Roberts, Destiny Emerson, Logan Emerson-Primm, Bobby Emerson, and Colby Emerson; her great-grandchildren, Kendall Salazar, Peyton Johnson, River Barnard, Paisley Hughes, Josie Hughes, Piper Janke, Pecos Janke; and numerous other beloved family members and friends.

The family would like to thank Gentle Transitions Hospice of Moody for providing amazing care to Charlotte and her family during this difficult time.

Charlotte Ballard Emerson's presence will forever be felt in the lives she touched. Her kindness, love, and joyful spirit will continue to inspire us all to live each day to the fullest. Though we mourn her loss deeply, let us also celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the profound impact she had on everyone fortunate enough to know her. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
