David John Christiansen, age 56, of Temple, Texas, passed away on September 27, 2026, leaving behind a life marked by hard work, devotion, and the love of family and friends. He was born on February 3, 1970, in Houston, Texas, and carried with him throughout his life the strength, humor, and generous spirit that those who knew him came to cherish.

David was a graduate of Florence High School, where he began building the foundation for a life defined by determination and responsibility. He went on to become a Master Electrician and the owner of One Step Construction Inc., a role in which he took great pride. Through his work, he earned the respect of colleagues, clients, and friends alike. He was known not only for his skill and reliability, but also for the care he brought to every project.David was a Christian, and his faith was an important part of his assurance and resolve, especially toward the end of his life. He was generous, loving, and funny, and those qualities shone through in the way he treated others. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and at ease, and his presence often brought laughter and comfort to those around him. His sense of humor, along with his loyalty and kindness, made him someone people liked being around.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, poker, and playing pool, and he especially treasured spending time with his family and friends. These interests were part of the simple joys that made his life rich and full. Whether he was sharing stories, enjoying time outdoors, or sitting around with loved ones, David valued connection and companionship. He understood the importance of making memories, and he created many that will be remembered with love for years to come.

David is survived by his mother, Lois Bland; his sisters, Celeste Christiansen and Trisha Cook and her husband, Myron; his niece, Kennedy Cook, and her fiancé, Blaze Makovy; his aunt, Sharon Cantrell; the love of his life, Nancy Gatewood; and many beloved cousins and extended family members. Each of them will carry forward the memory of his kindness, his laughter, and the steady presence he brought into their lives. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, who surely welcomed him with love.

Those who loved David will remember a man who worked hard and loved deeply. He was someone who valued family above all else and who found meaning in the everyday moments shared with the people closest to him. His life was a testament to the idea that the greatest measure of a person is often found in the way he treats others and the love he leaves behind. As we remember David, we are reminded of the words of Jesus in John 14:2, “In my Father’s house are many mansions.” This promise offers comfort to those who mourn, reminding us that death is not the end for those who trust in the Lord. David’s life was a testimony to the importance of family, faith, and steadfast love, and his memory will continue to be a blessing.
