Doris
Sadau
August 20, 1930 — September 11, 2026
Nolanville
Doris Sadau, 96, of Nolanville, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 11, 2026. She was born on August 20, 1930, in Valley View, Texas, to Carl and Olga Reiter. Throughout her long and beautiful life, Doris remained deeply devoted to her family, her faith, and the service of others.
Doris possessed a genuine love for life that could be seen in the kindness she extended to others and the joy she found in everyday blessings. She served as a cafeteria director at KAES and later spent many years caring for the elderly. With compassion, patience, and a generous heart, she brought comfort and companionship to those entrusted to her care. Serving others was not simply her work—it was a reflection of the remarkable woman she was.
Her faith was a constant source of strength and guidance throughout her life. Doris attended Killeen Seventh-day Adventist Church, where worship and fellowship held a special place in her heart. Her love for God and her family remained at the center of everything she did. Of all her many blessings, Doris considered her family her greatest accomplishment, and she took tremendous pride in watching them grow and pursue their dreams.
Doris found happiness in life’s simple and beautiful pleasures. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, listening to music and gospel hymns, admiring flowers, and sharing good food with the people she loved. She especially treasured family birthday celebrations, the warmth and wonder of Christmastime, and attending church. She also had a special fondness for lemon-filled doughnuts. These small joys became treasured memories for those fortunate enough to share them with her.
Doris is lovingly survived by her daughters, Janice Stewart and Karen Voegele; her son, Ernie Sadau; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Ann Brown. Her family was an endless source of pride and joy, and her steadfast love will live on through the stories they share, the traditions they continue, and the love they pass on to future generations.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services, located at 5431 U.S. Highway 190 in Belton. Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Doris will be remembered for her caring spirit, enduring faith, generous heart, and joyful appreciation for life’s blessings. Above all, she will be remembered for the immeasurable love she poured into her family and everyone around her. Her life was a gift, and her memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew and loved her.
