Dwayne Allan Bartek, age 57, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 22, 2026, in Belton, Texas. He was born on February 7, 1969, in Temple, Texas, to James and Kitty Jo Bartek.

Dwayne was born and raised in Temple, and he earned his GED through the Windham School District. He spent most of his working life as a roofing contractor. Roofing is hard, physical labor, and Dwayne was a hardworking man who was proud of it. He worked hard to provide for his family, and he gave everything he had to the people he loved.

Dwayne was a Christian. His faith was strong and quiet, and it was a part of who he was. He was a generous, loving, and strong man. Nothing meant more to Dwayne than spending time with his family. He loved to go fishing, and he loved grilling and camping. He loved listening to rock and roll music. He loved laughter and telling stories, and he enjoyed life in his own way. 

There was one thing he always told his kids: "Think before you do." It was simple, plain advice, the kind he believed in. It is one of the many lessons he passed down, and it is one his family will keep with them and pass on. 

Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents, James and Kitty Jo Bartek, and by his beloved daughter, Samantha Clifton. He is survived by his estranged wife and life-long friend, Kelley; his sons, who were the pride of his life, Mikel and wife Charitey, and Nathan and future wife Tempress; the grandchildren he adored, Mercedes, David, Drayden, Dalyla, Rueger, Jaiden Kane, Khloe, Memphis, and Ada; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Dwayne will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. His family is thankful for the time they had with him and for everything he taught them, and they will carry his memory with them always.

Rest easy, Dad. Until we meet again.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Abundant Life Church, 2205 N. 3rd St., Temple, Texas, with Rev. Robert Carter officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Crotty Funeral Home.
