Edith Lorraine Holman

September 30, 1944 — July 23, 2025

Edith Lorraine Holman of Belton, Tx. went home to be with the Lord on July 23rd, 2025 after a short battle with cancer. Born September 30, 1944 to Cecil and Dorna Wood, she was the oldest of 4 siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Cecil 'Butch' Wood.

Edith is survived by her best friend and loving husband, Retired SSG Robert Holman, Her wonderful and devoted son Donald Shockley Jr. both of Belton and Her amazing daughter and son-in-law Tracy and Larry Rogers of WV. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Cory and Julianna Rogers, Rebecca and Kessel Lilly, along with five adored great-grandchildren all of WV. Edith was the light of their world and is missed beyond words. Edith is also survived by a Sister, Brother, nieces and nephews.

She was an amazing woman who stood out among all. She was strong, courageous, a loving and kind woman that worked hard most of her life. She gladly and honorably served others, from her years as a Fort Hood Family Support Advocate during the Gulf War to a CASA volunteer for Bell County. Edith had a fun, playful spirit and enjoy life to it's fullest, always eager to travel any distance just to be with her family.

Edith was a woman with many interest and talents that enjoyed pottery most of all. If you had the pleasure of meeting her, you would know that there was never a time you weren't laughing. She was such a joy to be around. A woman that left a long lasting memory for anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.

Edith Lorraine Holman... Daughter, Sister, Friend... beloved Wife and Mother... adored Memaw and Mimi. Someone God only gives to you once... You will be deeply missed by all.
