It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved father, grandfather, partner, brother, and friend, Edward Collier, who passed peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was 73 years old.

Born on September 13, 1952, in Boyle, Mississippi, he was one of seven children born to Thelma and Richard Collier, who preceded him in death. He grew up surrounded by family and carried that deep love of connection and loyalty throughout his life.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later built a long and respected career as an electrician at Fort Hood. In retirement, he embraced the simple joys of life—playing rounds of golf, traveling, sharing meals and long conversations with friends, and spending treasured time with his family.

One of his proudest accomplishments was completing his long-time dream of building a home for his family to enjoy for generations to come. He loved hunting, gathering with friends over good food, and making memories with those he loved most—including his granddog Lucy.

He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Phillips, and her husband Chantry Phillips; his cherished grandchildren, Noah and Caelyn; his long-time girlfriend, Kathy Russell; and many extended loved ones including Amanda Dockrey, Zach, Chelsie, and Nate. He is also survived by his siblings Audry Mynell Smittle, Ralph Collier and wife Virginia, and Tempes Parnell. He was preceded in death by his brothers Richard Collier, John Collier, and Ferral “Bruce” Collier.

He will be remembered for his love of family, his loyalty to friends, his strength, and the warmth and laughter he brought to every gathering. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew him.
