Elizabeth Anne Owens

Elizabeth Anne Owens, 76, of Elizabethton, TN passed away on January 8, 2024, in Harker Heights, Texas.  She was born on October 10, 1947 in Los Angeles, California to the late, James Floyd Markland and Beverly Anne Reed Markland.

Liz dedicated her life to being a homemaker and nurturing her family with love and care.  She was a pillar of strength for her loved ones and created a warm and welcoming home for all who entered.  Liz's children were the center of her world, and she poured her heart into raising them to be kind, successful individuals.

Elizabeth is survived by her four sons, Michael L. Owens of Killeen, TX, James T. Owens of Madison Heights, MI, Daniel J. Owens of Roseville, MI, and JC Owens, II of Waynesville, NC; her two daughters, Carrie Anne Nash of Aubrey, TX and Devon E. Owens of Jacksonville, FL; her brother, David Markland of Elizabethton, TN; her sister, Patricia Markland of NC; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.  Her straightforward nature, kind heart, and nurturing spirit left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.  Her legacy of love will continue to inspire and guide her loved ones in the years to come.

Private family services will be held for Elizabeth at a later date.

As we say our final goodbyes, let us remember Elizabeth not with tears of sadness but with hearts full of gratitude for the incredible person she was.

Those wishing to make memorial donations in Elizabeth' s memory, the family requests those be made to St. Jude's Children's Foundation.
