Elmer Leon Byrd

Elmer Byrd, 77, of Cameron passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021, at a Temple hospital.

A visitation for Elmer will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services and a graveside service to follow at 2 PM on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.

Elmer was born on February 16, 1944, to Frank and Willie Mae Byrd in Uvalde, Texas. He worked for Temple ISD in the maintenance department until his retirement in 2007. Elmer enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also loved dancing, fishing, watching wrestling, listening to classic country music, and working on cars.  

Elmer is survived by his sister, Bertha Roberts of McKinney; his daughter, Judy Dickey of Lott; and his son, Gilbert Winans of Nevada, TX. He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Bryd and his mother, Willie Mae Byrd.

Arrangements are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
