Essie Maureen Newman

Essie Maureen Newman, 90, of Harker Heights passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 in a local nursing home. Essie was born to Ethel and William Upward on January 7, 1929 in Arapahoe, Nebraska. Essie enjoyed quilting, bowling, and spending time with her family. The family will be holding a private memorial service. Essie is survived by her son, Kevin Newman and wife Dawn of Harker Heights; her grandchildren, Trey Dorsey and wife Crystal and Meghan Newman; and one great grandchild, Jackson Dorsey. Essie is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Vaughn Newman, who passed in 1978; her parents; her sister, Lois Upward, and her brothers, Laurel and Wayne Upward.
