Ester Jan Wright, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and compassion. Born on February 27, 1956, in Belton, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Lee and Virginia Brooks. 

Ester, who lovingly carried her maiden name, Brooks, was proud of her roots in this close-knit community where she also completed her education at Salado High School.Ester dedicated a significant part of her career as a Secretary at IBM in Dallas, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and diligence. Her work ethic and attention to detail were admired by colleagues and friends alike.

A woman of many interests, Ester had a passion for horses and enjoyed the thrill of gambling, further expressing her adventurous spirit. She loved shopping and was a loyal fan of the Houston Texans, finding joy in cheering them on each game day. Her zest for life was contagious, and she brought laughter and love to every gathering.Ester's family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her devoted husband, William Rodney Reid, and her beloved sons, Thomas Turner of Academy, Texas, and Brent Turner of Moody, Texas. 

Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who will always remember her nurturing embrace and the unforgettable memories they created together.Ester was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Lee and Virginia Brooks, and her brother, Robert Lee Brooks. She also mourned the loss of her grandson, Kameron Turner, who she adored dearly.

The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Ester’s life with visitation at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton, Texas, on September 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the start of the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Following the service, a burial will take place at Salado Cemetery at 12:00 PM.Ester Jan Wright will be remembered not only for her gentle nature and spirited personality but also for the love she so freely gave. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
