Florian Ugat Racho, a proud medical technologist and beloved family man, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on December 17, 1948, in Davao City, Philippines, Florian’s journey through life was marked by dedication to his profession and an unwavering love for his family.

Florian earned his bachelor’s degree in the Philippines, a testament to his commitment to education and professional growth. He carried this ethos throughout his career as a medical technologist, where he provided invaluable services and care to those in need. His professional contributions were paralleled by his vibrant personality; Florian was known for being a jokester who brought joy to every gathering. As a social butterfly, he was able to impact the lives of many by sharing his extensive wisdom and encouraging others to reach outside of their comfort zones.

Florian was a supportive and loving Papa, dedicated to providing for his family. His presence as a husband, father, and grandfather radiated warmth and affection, qualities admired by all who knew him. His beloved spouse, Elizabeth Wong Racho, along with his daughters Joyce Racho and her partner Janiz Sibayan, and Jackie Racho-Pelias and her spouse Edwino Pelias, will forever hold dear the cherished memories they made together.

Florian was also a proud grandfather to Karenina Racho Pelias, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. He had a special bond with his siblings, including his brothers Isabelo Racho Jr. of the Philippines, Leo Racho of Florida, and Percival Racho of Florida, as well as his sisters Nymia Gomez of California and Erminda Pintor of the Philippines. The connections within his family were a source of strength and unity, and they will carry his legacy forward with love and pride.

Beyond his professional and familial life, Florian had many interests that enriched his life. He enjoyed photography, capturing life’s moments through his lens. A lover of games, he found joy in playing mahjong and excitedly participated in spirited karaoke sessions. His passion for current events sparked animated conversations with friends and family alike, reflecting his vibrant personality. Additionally, he found peace in the great outdoors, whether it was fishing or engaging in his hobbies of carpentry and cooking.

The memories of Florian will continue to bring smiles to those who knew him. A memorial service to honor his life will take place on October 21, 2025, at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton, Texas, beginning at 10:00 AM.
