Forrest Dwight Bruce Sr.

Forrest ""Greyhound"" Dwight Bruce Sr., 75, of Belton passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 in a local hospital. Forrest was born to Rose and Hugh Bruce on June 6, 1944 in Glens Falls, New York. He was one of fifteen brothers and sisters. Forrest was a United States Army veteran who fought in the Vietnam War. After spending his time in the military, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Odell Geer Construction. He loved watching Wheel of Fortune, Judge Judy, and The Price is Right. Forrest enjoyed working outside in his yard. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A visitation for Forrest will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2020 at 11:00 AM at North Belton Cemetery. Forrest is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Geneva Luna Bruce of Belton; his sons, Forrest ""Junior"" Dwight Bruce Jr. of Temple, Thomas N. Bruce of Temple, Tony Avila of Temple, and J.D. Black of Belton; his daughter, Juanita Salazar of Belton; his siblings, Billy Bruce, Richard Bruce, Tommy Bruce, Hugh Bruce, Johnny Bruce, Timmy Bruce, Dale Baldwin, Pat Henry, Betty Bruce, Grace Wilson, and Rose Ornsby; his nine grandchildren, and his fourteen great grandchildren. Forrest is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Keith Bruce and Robert Bruce; and his sister Mary Lou Burnell.
