To all his beloved family,

Freddie Charles Harrell, known to most as "Pappy", was born on November 24, 1943, in Clarendon, Texas, to Dave and Geneva "Peggy" Harrell. On April 4,2026, he went to be with Jesus, leaving behind a life-time of stories, lessons, and memories that only he could give.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dave Harrell; his mother, Peggy Harrell; and his brothers, Jimmie Dean Harrell and Dave Malloy Harrell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years: Sarah Harrell, the one person who could match his stubbornness and still hold his whole heart. He also leaves behind his children: Frediena and husband Jonathan Dean of Santa Anna, Texas; Regina Rose Prentice and husband Mike Prentice of Buffalo Gap, Texas; Wendy and husband Kevin Morris of Santa Anna, Texas; and Tim and wife Loretta Anderson of Santa Anna, Texas. He is also survived by his sister: Phoebie Crosby of Rowena, Texas; brother: Tommy and wife Patricia Harrell of Ballinger, Texas; and brother: Dwight "Chipper" and Olga Harrell of Mexico, along with 16 grandchildren, their spouses, and many great-grandchildren who will carry his memory forward.

Pappy was, plain and simple, an ornery man with no filter. You never had to wonder what he was thinking- he was going to tell you whether you were ready to hear it or not. He had a hard life and made his share of mistakes, but he owned them in his own way and kept moving forward. He loved to talk a little "mess", stir the pot, and keep everyone on their toes-but that was just part of why you'll never forget him.

He was full of stories- about greyhound and horse races, about life, and about things that may or may not have gotten a little bigger each time he told them. He loved his old Western shows, working in his yard, and tinkering with his small engines. To him, nothing was too far gone to try and fix-whether it was a motor or a person who just needed a little time and patience.

He had a soft spot, even if he didn't always show it. He loved all of his pups- and never turned away a stray animal that needed feeding. Beneath the rough edges and sharp words was a man who loved deeply, especially his family, and most of all his wife, Sarah.

To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was one of a kind. He may not have always said things the "right" way, but always knew where you stood with him-and you always knew you were loved.

He will be missed dearly. The house will be quieter with his voice, his stories, and his unfiltered opinions. But the memories, the laughter, and even the tough lessons he left behind will stay with you anyways.

Remember him as he truly was-imperfect, outspoken, stubborn, and full of life-and carry a little bit of that boldness with you. That's the kind of legacy Pappy leaves behind.

Forever loved, never forgotten.
