Born on August 2, 1966, in Lockhart, Texas, Herminio’s life was marked by unwavering devotion to his family, steadfast generosity, and a spirit of kindness that touched all who knew him.
Throughout his life, Herminio cultivated deep relationships and made treasured memories with those who were fortunate enough to share in his journey. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Lore Alvarez, whose partnership stood as a testament to their enduring commitment and mutual support. Family was central in Herminio’s life, and he took immense pride in nurturing and guiding his children: Samuel Augustine Alvarez and his wife Angela of Temple, Texas, Ashly Ann Gonzalez and her husband Christian of Belton, Texas, Amanda Sue Jarrett of Belton, Texas, Samantha Jo Salazar and her husband Isaac of Belton, Texas, and Emily Lynn Alvarez and her husband Noel of Belton, Texas. He also found great joy in his role as a grandfather to Sophia Salazar, Gavin Salazar, Melanie Salazar, as well as Everitt, Easton, and Sawyer Simpson, cherishing every shared moment and milestone.
Herminio’s bonds extended to his siblings, including his brothers Eddie Alvarez of Temple, Texas and Albert Alvarez of Jarrell, Texas, and his sisters Rosemary Duran, Linda Duran, Linda Mendoza, and Jeanette Brumet all of Temple, Texas. Together, they formed a close-knit family foundation woven with love, laughter, and enduring support.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alvarez; his father, Herminio G. Alvarez Sr.; and his sister, Viginia Partida. Their memories continued to influence and inspire Herminio throughout his life.
