JL Byrd,79, of Temple passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at a local hospital. A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Crotty Funeral Home with Pastor Ridge Adams officiating. JL was born on August 8, 1939 to Frank and Millie Byrd in Harper, TX. He worked for T.I.S.D in the maintenance department for over 25 years. JL enjoyed dancing, country music, tractors, T.V. Land, being outdoors, and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lena Fay Byrd on May 21, 2012. He is survived, by his four daughters, Barbara Ann Ridout of Cameron, Betty Lou Byrd, Linda Sue Byrd, Peggy Faye White, All of Temple; one brother Elmer Byrd of Cameron; two sisters, Louise Warden of Olney, and Burtha Roberts of McKinney; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
