Jimmie Ray White, 77, of Temple, a dedicated Airforce Vietnam Veteran and longtime postal service employee, passed away on February 28, 2024. He was known for his unwavering commitment to his work and his deep love for his family.
A memorial service for Jimmie will be held at a later date and details will be posted soon.
Born in 1946, Jimmie attended Oakdale High School before pursuing higher education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in accounting. His career in the U.S. Postal Service as a mail handler and facilities maintenance worker spanned many years, reflecting his strong work ethic and reliability.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jimmie's true pride and joy was his family. He adored spending time with them and was always there to offer support, guidance, and love. he is survived by his son, Anthony "Tony" White of Oklahoma City; his daughters, Elana White of Temple, and Nicole White of Yukon, OK ;his brothers, Rev. Jesse White of Amite, LA, and Gordon "Mike: Willis of Crowley, LA, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, numerous family members and friends.
In his free time, Jimmie was actively involved in coaching his children and enjoyed every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He found peace in gardening, satisfaction in working on race cars with his friend Terry Woodall, and relaxation in the game of golf.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, numerous family members, as well as by his beloved wives Evelyn Anthony-White and Dixie White. Their memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him best.
As we mourn the loss of Jimmie Ray White, let us cherish the memories we shared with him and find solace in knowing that he will always be remembered for his kindness, dedication to family, and joyful spirit. May he rest in eternal peace surrounded by the love that he so freely gave during his lifetime.
