John Petrou Collis Jr., a dedicated family man, decorated servicemember, and beloved member of the Killeen community, passed away tragically on January 10, 2026, at the age of 34, due to a car accident. He is survived by his loving wife, Ambar Collis, and their three cherished children, Bradley Martin Collis, Lillian Jean Collis, and Caleb John Collis. His legacy of love and courage will also live on through his sister, Kimberly Saluter, as well as his parents, John Petrou Collis Sr. and Nikki Smith.

John's commitment to his country was evident through his exemplary military career, in which he earned numerous accolades including the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Commendation Medal (2nd award), Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd award), NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, and the Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver - Wheeled Vehicle (s) clasp. The rigorous training he underwent, including the Military Police Course, Small UAV Operator Course, Special Reaction Team Training Course, Warrior Leader Course, and becoming a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, reflected his dedication to both personal and professional growth.

John's Christian faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with strength and guidance throughout his journey. He brought light and joy to those around him, whether through his service or in his personal life. His intelligence shone through in his strategic approaches to online games like Fortnite, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of playing with friends.

John found peace in the outdoors while kayaking and fishing, but he found his true joy at home. He was happiest in the garage, where the beer was cold and the music was always playing. Whether he was gearing up for a Saturday night fights or sharing his knowledge of firearms, John’s garage was the backdrop for his life. It was in those ordinary moments, surrounded by his favorite tunes, that his loving and generous soul truly shone through.

Described by those who knew him as generous, loving, and intelligent, John's impact on the world was as profound as it was heartfelt. He was a man who gave without expecting anything in return, loved without boundaries, and thought deeply about the world around him.

John's untimely departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire. His life was a testament to the power of love, the importance of family, and the unyielding strength of the human spirit. John Petrou Collis Jr. will be profoundly missed, yet his legacy will endure through the lives of those he touched.
