John Pope Elam III

John Pope Elam III, 79, of Belton passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 in the comfort of his home. John was born to John Pope Elam JR. and Willie Inez La Roque on October 10, 1939 in Cisco, Texas. He married his wife of 57 years, Rachel Allen, on December 30, 1960 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He earned his master's degree and worked as an associate school psychologist for KISD. He retired in 2006. John enjoyed many hobbies, including collecting fossils and stones, antiquing, traveling, exploring sea life, and spending time with his family. John is survived by his wife Rachel Elam, his daughter Julie L. Beltz of Temple; his son James Elam of Killeen; his sisters Jan Thorton of Corpus Christi and Judy ""Deedee"" Terrill of Arizona; and his two grandchildren, Heather Beltz of Lubbock and Scott Beltz of Temple.
