Johnathan Allen Morton, brother, husband, father, grandpa, and friend, passed away on July 14, 2026, in Moody, Texas. He was born on March 30, 1977, in Creston, Iowa and spent most of his childhood in DFW area and also Roy, Utah. He touched countless lives with his enduring warmth, steadfast spirit, and deep devotion to family.

Johnathan’s upbringing set the foundation for a life imbued with kindness and resilience. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, joining at the age of only 18, which contributed to his sense of duty, camaraderie, and honor. The discipline and perspective he gained from his service remained with him throughout his life. A defining chapter in Johnathan’s life began when he married young, embarking on a partnership that weathered all of life’s ups and downs.

Johnathan’s zest for life was evident in his many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed going bowling, playing pool, skating, and skiing, as well as taking memorable vacations that built lifelong memories. A devoted gamer and a lover of all types of music, Johnathan embraced every opportunity to create joy for himself and those around him.

Johnathan is survived by his devoted wife, Dianne Morton, his sons, Anthony and Timothy, as well as Timothy's wife America, whose lives have been shaped by his wisdom and example. His granddaughter, Selen, brought so much happiness into his later years, his brother, Rick Morton and sister-in-law Shelley, along with their children, Alyssa, Rebecca, and Dane. His sister, Laura Morton Hubred and brother-in-law Heath, his nieces Jessica and Pashence, and nephew Gavin, his grandmother Opal Morton, and his brother by choice, Chris Newton and his wife, Veronika and their daughter, Nicky, along with many cherished family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by, his mother Karen Morton, his father, Mark Morton, his stepfather, Robert Wall Jr., maternal grandparents Theodore and Chrystelle Church and paternal grandpa Richard Morton; as well as his nephews, Damion Wall, and his best friend, Ricky Green, each of them held a special place in his heart, and their absence was always felt.

To those who knew him, Johnathan will be remembered for a personality marked by unwavering familial devotion, a broad smile often shared over a game or a favorite tune, and a steadfast commitment to the people he loved. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it—even if it was the only shirt he had. His generosity knew no limits, and he never hesitated to put others before himself. His ability to share laughter, offer support, and build memories out of everyday moments leaves an enduring legacy—one that will live on in the hearts of all whose lives he touched.

Johnathan Allen Morton’s story is one of love, loyalty, and resilience. As his family and friends mourn his passing, they also celebrate a life that, though cut short, was filled with purpose and grace. He will be dearly missed but fondly remembered, always.
