Josiah Simon Alcozer

January 20, 2008 — January 2, 2026

Josiah Simon Alcozer, affectionately known as Blacky to those who knew him best, lived a life marked by joy, faith, and an infectious sense of humor. Born on January 20, 2008, in the warm and welcoming community of Temple, Texas, Josiah entered eternal rest on January 2, 2026. Though his time on this earth was just seventeen years, his life was full overflowing with laughter, love, and an indomitable spirit that brightened the lives of everyone he touched.

Services will be held at 2:00P.M. Monday January 12, 2026, at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton with Brother Daniel Avarado officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday January 11, 2026, between 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.

He is survived by his cherished parents, Simon and Alisa Alcozer, who instilled in him the values of kindness and compassion that he carried throughout his life, and by his loving girlfriend, Ariana Tobar. Josiah’s legacy continues through his siblings—Khloe, Analisa, Zachariah, Messiah, and Jeremiah Alcozer—each of whom shared a unique and treasured bond with their brother, filled with adventures and memories that will be forever held close to their hearts. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandparents, Alice Lopez and Ernest Alcozer, along with many devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who mourn the loss of a soul taken far too soon.

Josiah is preceded in death by his great-grandmother Alejandra Alcozer, his grandmother Rachel Alcozer, his grandfather Alfonso Lopez, and his beloved sister Destiny Alcozer, with whom he now rests in peace.

In his professional life, Josiah dedicated himself to the world of construction, where he combined his love for building with a natural talent for working with his hands. A true craftsman, he took pride in his work and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Josiah was currently a student at Belton High School.

The outdoors was Josiah’s sanctuary and playground. He found excitement and peace in nature—whether skillfully rebuilding pit bikes or casting a line into the water. Music was another of his great loves; his ability to sing and share joy through song was unmatched, often filling rooms with laughter. Josiah’s hilarious sense of humor and vibrant personality could light up any space. He will always be remembered for his smile, his jokes, and his unmistakable lisp.

The words that best describe Josiah are funny, adventurous, and handy. A true jack of all trades with a big heart, he expressed his spirit through his hands and his creativity, leaving pieces of himself in everything he built and everyone he loved.

In the words of Helen Keller, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched—they must be felt with the heart.” Josiah’s life, though brief, was a testament to feeling deeply and living fully. He touched countless hearts and left an indelible imprint through his love, laughter, and unwavering faith.

As we bid farewell to Josiah, we carry forward the light he placed within each of us. We find comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on—not only in our memories, but in the beauty of every sunrise, the strength of every building, and the melody of every song. His was a life well lived, and his soul will be forever cherished.

Burial will be at North Belton Cemetery
