Kevin Steve Thompson

Kevin Steve Thompson, age 21, of Austin passed away on Friday 16 May 2014 at his residence. Services will be held at 11:00a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at the Destiney World Outreach Center with Pastor Chad Rowe officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday, 22 May 2014 from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton. Kevin Steve Thompson was born on April 2, 1993 in Panama City, Panama to Itzel (Thompson) Gonzalez. He attended Harker Heights High School and graduated with honors in 2011. Kevin achieved many accomplishments while in high school such as being president of the yearbook committee, he was a member of various clubs, and was a writer for the school's newspaper. After high school, Kevin realized his dream of moving to Austin TX, where he was very happy. He transferred to the local HEB store, was very successful professionally, and had plans to fulfill his goal of becoming a store manager. He was hard working, talented, creative, driven, original, and a unique individual. Kevin enjoyed volunteering for South by Southwest music, film, and interactive conference and festival held in Austin every year. He was passionate about art history, and politics. He loved the music scene in Austin and attended band shows regularly. Kevin was active and full of life and he enjoyed entering marathons, riding his bike, and sitting poolside with friends. He adored spending time, playing and cuddling with his pet dog Sloopy. He is survived by his mother, Itzel and Step father, Derek Gonzalez; one sister, Ingrid Ramos; one brother, Derek Gonzalez Jr. all of Killeen; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
