In Loving Memory of Lawrence Douglas & Susan Annette Harris

Lawrence “Larry” Harris, born March 25, 1948, in Waco, Texas, and Susan Harris, born November 7, 1949, in Bryan, Texas, passed away together in their home on September 15, 2026.

Larry and Susan were married on October 24, 1969, and shared nearly 57 years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around their faith, their family, and their love for one another.

They treasured their family. Their memory and love will be carried on by their daughter Michelle (Nooner), daughter-in-law Jennifer, seven grandchildren: Brandon, Kristen (Austin), Kayla (Anthony), Jaden, Landon, Aiden, and Emma, five great-grandchildren: Cameron, Rylan, Ray, Addisyn, and Cooper; siblings Glen (Janet), Carol (Michael), and Connie.

Their family was their greatest source of joy, and the love they poured into each generation will continue through the family they leave behind.

Their faith was at the heart of their lives. They both sang in the choir, Susan played the piano, and Larry served as a deacon.

They also found joy in the simple things. They loved their Dallas Cowboys and participating in family fantasy football.
Larry loved Dr Pepper and watching just about any movie that happened to be on. Susan loved jewelry, the color purple, and spending time with her beloved “Birthday Girls.”

Above all, Larry and Susan loved each other. Nearly 57 years of marriage gave them a lifetime of memories, laughter, faith, and traditions that will be carried on by the generations they leave behind.

Larry and Susan entered Heaven together, where they were welcomed home by their son Michael, parents, grandparents, brother, and grandchildren who had gone before them. They left this world as they lived their lives: side by side. Their family finds comfort knowing they are together again, surrounded by those they loved, and in the presence of the Lord they faithfully served.

Together in life, together in love, and together in eternity.

Susan and Larry Harris were inseparable for as long as anyone can remember. Their love, devotion, and companionship were an example of what it truly means to share a life together. In a beautiful and peaceful moment that seems almost like something from a fairy tale, Susan and Larry left this world on the same day, together and peacefully together.

Larry lived with Parkinson’s disease for almost five years. But Parkinson’s never defined Larry, and he never allowed it to defeat him. He continued to live his life with the same love, faith, humor, and devotion to family that had always been at the heart of who he was.

He continued doing the things he loved—going to church, playing fantasy football, gathering with family, and being present for the moments that mattered most. At family gatherings and large meals, Larry could often be counted on to step up and say grace, bringing everyone together in faith and gratitude.

In Larry’s honor, in lieu of flowers we are asking family and friends to consider supporting The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. This tribute is a way to carry Larry’s memory forward and help support the search for better treatments and, one day, a cure.

Larry’s life was filled with love, family, faith, and countless memories. And perhaps most fittingly, the love story he shared with Susan remained inseparable until the very end.
