Linda Sue Barnowsky, née Morgan, passed away on August 27, 2026, in Belton, Texas. She was born on February 2, 1948, in Booneville, Arkansas, and lived a life marked by kindness, warmth, and a deep enjoyment of family, friendship, and simple pleasures.

Linda graduated from Killeen High School and went on to build a steady working life through several roles over the years. She worked as an insurance clerk, a legal secretary, and a switchboard operator, and was formerly employed by Bell County and Killeen Independent School District. In time, she retired, carrying with her the satisfaction of a life spent working hard and staying connected to others.

She was a person who liked living a slow-paced life, enjoyed the simple things in life, and never met a stranger. Linda was a very sweet person who enjoyed talking to people and making friends wherever she went. She found happiness in everyday moments and in the company of those she loved most.

Linda’s interests reflected her lively spirit and her appreciation for fun, family, and fellowship. She enjoyed mini golf and tried tennis, though softball was more to her liking. In her junior and senior years of high school, she took ballet classes. She loved swimming at grandpa’s, liked the lake and water skiing, and also enjoyed bowling, country western dancing, listening to country music, and taking walks. Linda was also a proud Texan and a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, always happy to cheer on her team. Above all, she enjoyed her work, kids, and spending time with family. She also had a special fondness for yellow roses and the color yellow, small details that brought brightness to her life and will remain lovingly associated with her memory.

Linda is survived by her son, Jeremy Barnowsky of Halifax, Pennsylvania, and her daughter, Ashley Shoop and her husband Jason of Harker Heights, Texas. She also leaves behind her sisters, Debbie Renick and Denise Barclay, and her sister-in-law, Sherry Morgan. Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren, Conner Barnowsky, Addison Barnowsky, Zane Hamil, Leah Shoop, Gaige Shoop, and Grant Shoop, each of whom was part of the family she so deeply enjoyed. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Megan, Heston, Jennifer, Sharlene, Trent, Trevor, and Trace, who remain among those carrying her memory forward with love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Freida Morgan, and by her brother, Keith Morgan.

Linda will be remembered for her sweet nature, her easy conversation, her love of family gatherings, her Texas pride, and the bright, cheerful spirit she brought to those around her. In the hearts of her family and friends, she leaves a memory as warm and enduring as sunshine on the water and as gentle as a yellow rose.
