Margaret Jean Peebles, age 80, of Belton, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on July 31, 2026, with her loving family by her side.

Margaret was born on December 2, 1945, in Metcalf, Illinois, to Joseph and Naomi Pugh. She graduated from Turkey Run High School in Marshall, Indiana. On December 31, 1968, she married the love of her life, David L. Peebles, with whom she shared more than 57 years of marriage.

Margaret worked for many years at R.R. Donnelley and Coast to Coast in Crawfordsville, Indiana, before moving to Texas.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, David L. Peebles of Belton; her son, David L. Peebles and his wife, Martha, of Fort Worth; her daughter, Erin Hammond and her husband, John, of Temple; her sisters, Lorraine Cross, Mary Jo Farley, Janet Lehr, Sue Thomas, Donna Poole, and Candy Gray; her grandchildren, Lauren Nitchman, Meagan Hammond, Jackie Hammond, Andrew Peebles, and Colin Peebles; and her great-grandchildren, Teagyn, Sophie, and Drew Nitchman.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Naomi Pugh; her brother, John Bartlett; and her sisters, Betsy Knight, Madge Gill, Beverly MacNorton, Nola Parker, and Nancy Kinkead.

Margaret’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of the family and friends who knew and loved her.
