Martha C. Gustafson, a beloved pillar of her family and community, departed this world on December 18, 2025, in Belton, Texas. Born on July 8, 1947, in Cranfills Gap, Texas, she lived a life marked by compassion, strength, and an unwavering spirit.
Martha dedicated her career to the well-being of others, serving as a Nursing Assistant and imparting her nurturing nature to those in her care. She also embraced the hardworking life of a Ranch Hand, embodying resilience and dedication on every front. Her professional endeavors were fueled by a warm heart and a desire to help, attributes that her family and friends cherished deeply.
Family was the cornerstone of Martha’s life. She leaves behind her loving DAUGHTERS: Sandra Heppner, Linda Kimble, and Treva Coleman, each of whom carries forward the values and lessons she imparted with grace and patience. Martha's legacy is further enriched by her GRANDCHILDREN: Carolyn Vasta, Danielle Cox, Charley Pemberton, Billy Kimble, Kimberly Meyers, and Christina Coleman. She delighted in the joy of being a GREAT-GRANDMOTHER: to Leland, Blake, Shona, RJ, Timmy, Katelynn, Jacob, Brooks, Everlynn, Grace, Oliver, Millie, Penny, and Jojo, who filled her days with laughter and love. SISTER Helen Dietiker and a lot of wonderful Nieces and Nephews.
Martha’s warm and forgiving nature was the light that enveloped her family and friends. She had a wonderful habit of waving at the American flag each time she passed one, a simple act that reflects her spirited patriotism and kindness. “If it was waving at her, she was gonna wave back,” she would say, a testament to her belief in connection and community.
Her story is woven through countless memories shared with loved ones. The fond recollections of childhood adventures, such as trips to Waco thrift shopping and thrilling summers at Six Flags, showcase her innate ability to create joy and togetherness. Martha's passions extended to riding horses, taking leisurely drives through the countryside, swimming under the summer sun, and, of course, thrift shopping, where she found treasure in every corner.
A student of Cranfills Gap, Martha's education laid the foundation for a lifetime of learning, but her greatest joy came from watching her girls come to Christ, knowing that her grandchildren were following in their footsteps. This accomplishment brought her immeasurable pride and happiness.
In addition to her living family, Martha is greeted in the spirit world by her parents, Cameron and Myrtle Gustafson, sisters Carol Anz, Mary Dellaughter, Linda Baublit, and brother Cameron Gustafson Jr., all of whom she missed dearly and remembered with love throughout her life.
Martha's funeral service will take place at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton, Texas, with visitation starting at noon on December 22, 2025, followed by the service at 2 PM. It is a time for all who knew her to gather in remembrance and celebrate the life of a woman who touched so many hearts.

Her legacy of love, forgiveness, and faith will continue to shine brightly in the lives of her family and friends, a gentle reminder that true love never fades, but only transforms into something beautiful.
