Born on August 25, 1949, in Kenefic, Oklahoma, to the late Roy Elbert Owens and Violet Geneva Owens, Mary Ann's early life in the close-knit community shaped her into the loving person celebrated by all who knew her. Her passing in Arlington, Texas, marks the end of a life lived with abundant generosity and care.
After graduating from Coleman High School in Coleman, Oklahoma, Mary Ann furthered her education with a year and a half of college, demonstrating her commitment to personal growth and learning. Her professional journey was marked by a distinguished 31-year tenure with Bank of America, where she rose through the ranks and retired as a respected officer of the bank in 2011. Her dedication and hard work were not only evident in her career but also in the many lives she touched through her contributions and involvement within the community. Mary Ann's family was the centerpiece of her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy, mother, Violet, and sister, Rose Whitmire. Her loving memory will be cherished by her surviving sister, Glenda Newsome and husband Jack, and brothers Royce and Jerry Dean Owens.
As a devoted mother to Christopher Allred and wife Jackie, and Stephanie Johnson and husband Jimmy, she instilled in them the values of kindness and compassion. Mary Ann's role as a grandmother to Ashley, Bradley, Emilee, David, Nicholas, Carlie, Carmen, Jadyn, and Caleb and as a great-grandmother to Haden and Harper was filled with joy and the creation of countless cherished memories.Known for her exceptional culinary skills, Mary Ann relished the opportunity to cook for and feed crowds at family gatherings. The warmth of her home and the delicious meals she prepared were the highlights of many family celebrations.
Her interests extended to quiet moments spent with a good book, the challenge of completing jigsaw puzzles, and, most importantly, loving on her grandbabies, with whom she shared her boundless affection. The legacy of Mary Ann Allred is one of love, service, and the quiet strength that comes from a life well-lived. Her departure leaves behind a void in the hearts of her family and friends, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Mary Ann's life was a testament to the beauty of giving, and her memory will be forever treasured in the hearts of her loved ones.
