Mary Edith Dopp

October 19, 1953 — August 31, 2025

Mary Edith Dopp entered eternal rest surrounded by the love of her family. Mary was born on October 19, 1953, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She grew up in Scott City, Missouri, where she attended Scott City High School.

During her school years, she was well-loved and popular with her classmates, remembered for her lively spirit and unforgettable personality. Mischievous yet fun, Mary always knew how to bring joy and laughter to those around her, leaving lasting impressions on her friends and community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmer Jewel and Francis Dopp, her sister, Melody Darlene Dopp, and her brother, Delmer “Buck” Dopp. Mary’s life was guided by her deep faith and belief in God. She faced every challenge with prayer and trust in the Lord, drawing strength from her relationship with Him. That same strength, combined with her vibrant personality, made Mary unforgettable. She was fiery, bold, and lived life on her own terms. To those who knew her, Mary was “spicy” and strong-willed, never afraid to speak her mind and always determined to do things her way. Though strong in spirit, Mary also carried a deep love for her family and friends. Her laughter, her stubborn determination, and her unwavering faith will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Mary Edith Dopp will be remembered not only as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, but also as a woman of faith and strength who left a lasting mark on all who were blessed to know her.

She is survived by her devoted children, Cheri Foster-McCarter and Ryan Marberry; her sister, Shirley (Edward) Bain; five cherished grandchildren, Amber Croteau, Heather Foster, Michael Foster, Hannah Marberry, and Hudson Marberry; and three great-grandchildren, Silas Croteau, Joshua Byrd Jr., and WinterRain Marshall.
