Mary Louise Huffman, a beacon of kindness and creativity, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, in Belton, Texas, at the age of 88. Born on January 3, 1937, in Galveston, Texas, Mary's life was a tapestry of love, family, and unwavering enthusiasm for the simple joys of life.
A proud graduate of Ball High School in 1955, Mary's early career saw her as the friendly voice on the other end of the line as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. Her life took a joyous turn when she married her beloved husband, Jimmy Huffman, in 1963. Together, they built a loving home filled with laughter and cherished memories. After becoming a mother, Mary dedicated herself to raising her children, Cindy, Mark and JoAnn. She was a constant presence in their lives, often volunteering at their schools and supporting their every endeavor. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she delighted in every moment spent with them.
Mary's home was a reflection of her creative soul, adorned with beautiful flower gardens that she tended with care. A true sports fanatic, she could often be found cheering for the Texas Longhorns, her enthusiasm infectious to all around her. Her love for sewing and crafts further showcased her artistic abilities, as she created countless memories and keepsakes for her family and friends.
Mary's life was enriched by the love of her family, including her late husband, Jimmy; her children, Cindy Huffman, Mark Huffman, and JoAnn Barclay; her son-in-law, Chris Barclay; and her beloved grandchildren, Kinley, Cayle, and Andon Barclay. She was a sister to Frank Loesch Jr. and was preceded in death by her brother, Herbert Loesch, and sister, Charlotte Edwards. Her many nieces and nephews also held a special place in her heart.
