Obituary:

Beloved by many and deeply cherished, Mathew Robert Blakey ,35, of Belton, Texas, bid farewell to this world on April 11, 2024 at 8:57 PM. Born on February 22nd, 1989, in the loving city of Temple, Mathew's departure has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday , April 19th at Belton Nazarene Church.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday April 18th at Belton Nazarene Church

In his professional journey, Mat dedicated his days as an Equipment Operator. His commitment and hard work were evident to all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

A proud graduate of Belton High School in 2007. However, it was his role as a father where he found his greatest joy and fulfillment. His proudest accomplishments revolved around his children whom he adored beyond words. Spending time with family and friends brought him happiness.

Outside of work and family life, Mat was known for his adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors. Whether out digging for arrowheads or casting a line while fishing, setting up camp under the stars, getting muddy off-road, or riding a motorcycle; these were the moments that truly lit up his soul.

Mat was welcomed into heaven by his father, Robert Carl Blakey and along with other loved ones. While our hearts ache with his passing, we find solace in knowing that he is now reunited with loved ones who went before him.

Mat leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for those he held dear. Among the circle of survivors are his mother Vicki Rice of Belton; step-father Ron and wife Jennifer Rice of Belton; daughter Kara Blakey of Belton; son Landan Blakey of Temple; his Fiancé Traci Lawson of Belton and his five sisters, Jessica Blakey of Troy, Mylinna Rice of Florida, Victoria Luna of Belton, Roni Rice and Annie Franco both of Belton.
