Pranee Jaruphong LaHue, age 89, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, in Temple, Texas.

She was born on March 4, 1937, in Saraburi Province, Thailand, to Pang Chomsee and Absorn Comsamai. She spent much of her childhood attending boarding school before earning a college degree in accounting. As a young woman, she appeared as an actress in a Thai television soap opera. By the age of 30, Pranee was working in Supply for the Royal Thai Air Force in Korat, Thailand. It was there that she met George LaHue, a United States Army soldier who had served in Vietnam. The two were married in 1967 in Phra Nakhon, Bangkok, Thailand.

Pranee and George made their home in Korat, where they welcomed their first two children before immigrating to the United States in 1970. Pranee proudly became a United States citizen. During George's military career, the family lived in California while he was deployed to Vietnam and Fort Hood, Texas, where their third child was born in 1973. They later welcomed their fourth child in 1978 while George was stationed in Germany. Following George’s discharge from the U.S. Army, the family moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where their fifth child was born in 1983. The LaHue family continued their journey together, living briefly in Alabama before returning to Texas. From 1984 to 2001, Texas was home before they moved to Schenectady, New York, to live with their daughter. From 2002 to 2010, Pranee lived with George in Vernon, Texas, where she helped care for her grandchildren while their mother was deployed. In 2015, Pranee and George settled in Temple, Texas, where she remained until her passing.

Pranee worked as a talented seamstress to help provide for her family. She was an accomplished competitive bowler, earning numerous championship awards in bowling leagues. She also loved spending time outdoors fishing and hunting alongside her husband. Pranee found joy in playing bingo, gardening, quilting, knitting, and cooking for those she loved. She was an avid collector of coins, Betty Boop memorabilia, and treasured knickknacks. While living in Vernon, she volunteered with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), served as a member of the Women's Auxiliary, and enjoyed attending conventions with fellow members.

Raised in the Buddhist faith, Pranee later accepted Jesus Christ and became a member of the Baptist faith after moving to the United States. Her faith, resilience, and unwavering love for her family remained the foundation of her life. 

Pranee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George LaHue; her father, Pang Chomsee; and her mother, Absorn Comsamai.

She is survived by her five children: Jamie Bourdeaux and her husband; Sonny LaHue and his wife; Tina Maineville and her husband; Melanie Vancegonzalez and her husband; and Daranee LaHue. She also leaves behind 21 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness, strength, and love.
