Raul Maldonado Reyes Sr.

Raul Maldonado Reyes Sr.,70, of Temple passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at a local nursing home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday February 22, 2019 at Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple with Father Francisco Officiating. Raul Maldonado Reyes Sr. was born on August 30, 1948 to Dolores Reyes and Guadalupe Maldonado in Belfalls. He received his master's degree in music theory from the University of Texas in Austin. He married the love of his life Yrene Reyes on June 23, 1965 in Temple. Raul taught music theory at the University of North Texas in Denton and music at Travis Middle School. He worked with special needs children as well. Music meant everything to Raul and he even played with various Tejano artists. He is preceded in death by his wife, Yrene Reyes on January 18, 2016; his granddaughter, Elizabeth Danielle Reyes; his father, Dolores Reyes and his mother, Guadalupe Maldonado. Raul is survived by his children, Jose Manuel Reyes and wife, Marilyn of Luling, Raul M. Reyes Jr. and wife Cynthia of Temple, Monique Rincones and husband, Patrick of Temple; his brothers, Rueben Maldonado Sr. of Pflugerville, Robert Reyes Sr. of Temple, Arthur Layton of Troy, Enrique Layton of Waco, Richard Constancio of Raleigh, NC, and Tomas Constancio of Temple; his sisters, Maria Maldonado of Temple, Christina Hill of Maud, Virginia Castro of Moody, and Delia Constancio of Austin; his grandchildren, David Caraballo Garcia, Matthew Rincones, and Kitty Patricia Cheyenne Rincones, Nickolas Allen Reyes, Richard Cantu III, Christopher Jeremy Reyes, Michael Bilbrey, Joshua Reyes, and Natasha Reyes; his great grandchildren, David Garcia Caraballo III, Angel Caraballo, Mia Caraballo, Gabriella Rincones and numerous cherish family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday Febrary 21, 2019 between 5:00 and 7:00P.M. and a 7:00P.M. rosary to follow at Crotty Funeral Home and cremation Services of Belton.
