Rickie Lee Hines II

Rickie Lee Hines II, age 49, departed this life at his home in Nolanville, Texas on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 04, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Mill Creek Golf & Country Club in Salado.

Rickie was born on September 1, 1971 in Post Texas to Rickie Lee Hines and Willa Faye (Branson) Hines.

Throughout his childhood he enjoyed martial arts, soccer, and skateboarding. Rickie enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 21 and served 24 years. He is a combat veteran. He received several awards and decorations. While in the Army he continued to participate in his unit football, softball, basketball, and soccer teams. He loved to spend hours inside the gym to improve himself physically. Rickie picked up the game of golf in his early twenties and would pick up a round with anyone interested in playing. He was known as a fierce friend, leader, and motivator. Rickie was the life of the party and was always making everyone laugh. He was a lifelong Texas Longhorn and Dallas Cowboys football fan. He was looking forward to being a grandfather to his future grandson, Sullivan Kaylor.

Rickie is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Charlie Lon and Ethel Joyce Baker; maternal grandparents, Hollis William and Jewell Langley Branson; Aunt Martha Branson and Aunt Nancy Daniel.

He is survived by his mother and father, brother Tim (Mary Raegan) Hines, two sons, Rickie L. Hines III and Zachary Taylor Hines as well as Tony Jackson and Kirsten Powell; two nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that he considered family.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of your choice within the Veteran organization.  

 

A memorial golf tournament will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Mill Creek Golf Club in Salado. The entry fee is 80 per person and all proceeds will be donated to Wounded Warriors.

Arrangements are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
