Robert James Billman Sr

Robert "Bob" James Billman Sr, a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and proud veteran, passed away on July 25, 2025, at the age of 84 in Temple, Texas. Born on February 3, 1941, in Catawissa, Pennsylvania, Bob lived a life rich in experiences, accomplishments, and, most importantly, love for his family.

Bob's journey began when he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1959. He was a proud veteran who served 22 years and retiredas as a Master Sergeant. His military service was a testament to his dedication and patriotism, experiences that not only shaped him but brought him together with fellow servicemen and women. Bob then finished his education by obtaining his bachelor's degree and began his second career working for Raytheon as a Field Engineer where he embraced the challenges of his profession while balancing the joys of family life. Both of his careers allowed him to travel to numerous places including El Paso, Tx, Germany, Pennsylvania, Saudi Arabia, Maine, and Boston, MA.

Throughout his life, Bob's love for family was unmatched. He cherished the moments spent with his wife, Janice Sue Billman, residing in Belton, Texas. Together they built a life filled with joy and accomplishment, and their bond remained a cornerstone of his existence. Bob was the eldest sibling of 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Bob was the proud father of Laurie Lacy of Centerville, South Dakota, Robert Billman Jr of Belton, Texas, and Barbara Papineau of El Paso, Texas. His heart swelled with pride for his three grandsons and granddaughter—Michael Billman of New York, Robert Billman III of Belton, Texas, David Billman of Fulshear, Texas, , and his granddaughter, Ashley Gerken of Centerville, South Dakota. Each of them carried a piece of him in their hearts and lives.

Bob had a variety of hobbies. He found joy in fishing and hunting, spending time immersed in nature and creating memories in the great outdoors. His love for cars often brought him excitement and camaraderie, adding to the tapestry of his rich and full life.

Despite the many accolades and milestones throughout his life, Bob's proudest accomplishment was his family. He delighted in their achievements and provided unwavering support, becoming a steadfast source of guidance and encouragement.

He is survived by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren, all of whom will deeply miss his presence in their lives. Preceding him in death were his parents, James and Dora Billman.

Bob's legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched, the love he shared, and the family he cherished. As we remember him, let us celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a heart that knew no bounds in giving love.
