Ronald Edward
Wyborny
December 25, 1935 — July 15, 2026
Ronald Edward Wyborny, a loving, kind, and adventurous soul, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, in Temple, Texas. Born on December 25, 1935, in Mason City, Iowa, Ronald’s journey through life was marked by genuine compassion, a broad sense of curiosity, and a steadfast devotion to his family and friends.
From his early days in Iowa, Ronald nurtured interests that would define much of his life. In his youth, he found joy building model airplanes—a passion that later evolved into flying as a private pilot, illustrating both his keen intellect and adventurous spirit. He carried these values with him into adulthood as he dedicated himself to serving his country in the US Navy, demonstrating honor and commitment.
Ronald embarked on a fulfilling professional path as an optician, dedicating himself to his craft until his well-deserved retirement at 73 years old. Throughout his career and beyond, Ronald’s love for discovery and exploration shone. He cherished time spent sailing the tranquil waters of Long Beach Harbor with his family and reveled in the simple pleasures of camping, always eager to experience and share new adventures.
Perhaps Ronald’s proudest accomplishment was his marriage to Audrey Goehrig on June 18, 1960, at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Long Beach, California. Together, they built a life rooted in love and partnership, celebrating sixty-six memorable years side by side.
Ronald’s cherished memory will be carried on by his beloved wife, Audrey of Temple, Texas; his sons, Chris Evan Wyborny and his wife Sondra of Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Brian Edward Wyborny and his wife Julie of Hayden, Idaho, and Dana Jon Wyborny and his wife Corrie of Austin, Texas; his brother, Wendell Wyborny and his wife Sheila of Cypress, Texas; and his five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Each of them benefited from his steadfast wisdom, his gentle encouragement, and his ever-present sense of joy.
He is preceded in death by his parents Alvin Kenneth and Vuelta Pearl Wyborny; as well as his dear daughter, Deanna Jo Wyborny, whose memory remained close to his heart.
Ronald touched the lives of everyone he met with kindness and a spirit of generosity. He leaves behind not only the legacy of his accomplishments but also the enduring warmth of his love, his adventurous approach to life, and the countless cherished moments he shared with those he held close.
Private family services will be held to honor Ronald’s memory. His family and friends will continue to celebrate his remarkable life and the lasting impact he had on each of them.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to Honor Flight in Ronald's memory. Through these gifts, fellow veterans will have the opportunity to visit the memorials built in honor of their service, ensuring their sacrifices are remembered and celebrated for generations to come.
