Rosie Lou Stanford, a beacon of love and laughter, completed her earthly journey on February 11, 2026. Born in Temple, Texas, on March 14, 1966, Rosie's life was a testament to the power of joy, faith, and familial bonds. She passed away in San Angelo, Texas, following complications from surgery, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Rosie, lovingly known to her friends and family as Rosie, embraced life with a heart full of generosity. Her mother, Lou Jones, and brother Ronald Jones, along with his wife Priscilla, sister Becky Ortega and her husband Bobby, were pillars in her life. Rosie's children—Kevin and daughter Kaylee, son Bradly with children’s mother Christina, Brian with his wife Alicia and their children Dayton, Trinity, Alivia, and Hayleigh, Eric with his wife Melanie and daughters Rainey and Miley, and Michael with his daughter Remie—were the pride and joy of her existence.
Rosie's extended family, including brother-in-law Cody Amador, sister-in-law Mary McNutt, her loving partner of five years, Rusty Darter, and his children Quinton and Shalinda with her husband Gage, as well as Lance and Nonie Fenter, held a special place in her heart. Her life was further enriched by numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Rosie was preceded in death by her father, Robert Jones, her husband, Leroy Stanford, sister-in-law Cynthia Stanford, and her in-laws Jim and Eloisa.
A student of Troy High School, Rosie humbly served her community through her work at the nursing home in Moody as a dedicated cook, and she brought smiles to many faces at the Pit Stop and Snow Cone Stand in Troy. Her unwavering Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through every joy and challenge with grace and resilience.
Rosie's interests were a mirror of her spirited soul. She found peace in fishing and camping, savoring the simplicity of nature and the company of loved ones. A cold Dr. Pepper, a Marlboro cigarette, and the comfort of a swing chair were her simple pleasures. Rosie's affection for Siamese cats was matched only by her love for music, especially when her son-in-law Gage and the Grease Monkeys were playing. Most of all, Rosie cherished the time spent cutting up and laughing with her sons and grandchildren, filling their lives with memories that will echo through generations.
Selfless, loving, and undeniably funny, Rosie's character was an embodiment of the words of Mother Teresa, "Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier." Her ability to uplift others was her greatest gift, and it remains a comforting legacy for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Rosie's life was a journey of giving, her actions a sermon of love. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we do so with the knowledge that her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the laughter she inspired. Rosie Lou Stanford will be profoundly missed, yet her light will continue to shine in the hearts of her beloved family and friends.
