It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sixto Venegas Valdez, who left this world on June 14, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on March 5, 1948, in Francisco I. Madero Durango, Mexico, Sixto lived a life dedicated to hard work, family, and faith. He was not only a respected farmer in Mexico but also a skilled construction machine operator, whose hands built more than structures; they built a legacy of resilience and dedication. Sixto's contributions to his community extended beyond his labor. He was deeply involved in his son's Pentecostal Church, where he found purpose and fulfillment, gathering with others to share in faith and fellowship. It was through these bonds that Sixto touched the lives of many, offering kindness and encouragement to those around him. He leaves behind a loving family that includes his wife of 52 years, married in July of 1972, Evangelina Valenzuela, and his sons and daughters-in-law: Moses and Gualberta Venegas from Lampasas, Texas, and Rolando and Bertha Venegas of Chicago, IL. Sixto cherished his daughters and sons-in-law: Maria and Juan Payan of Belton, Texas, Estela and Pablo Jr. Perez of Belton, Texas, and Maricela and Miguel Flores of Nolanville, Texas. He shared an unbreakable bond with his brother, Julio Venegas of Belton, Texas, and his sisters, Merced Venegas and Sofia Venegas of Mexico, Lidia Soto of Salado, Texas, Juana Valenzuela of Belton, and Lupe Felix of Belton, Texas. His legacy continues through his 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, who carry forward the love and values instilled in them by their beloved grandfather. Sixto's warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Sixto is reunited in spirit with his departed loved ones: his daughter Eva Felix, his father Francisco Venegas, and his mother Josefa Valdez. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Pedro Venegas, whose memory will forever be cherished.
A visitation to honor Sixto will be held on June 18, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton, Texas. A funeral service celebrating his life will take place the following day, June 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM, also at Crotty Funeral Home. Burial service is to follow and will be held at Mt. Zion Garden of Memories in Temple, Texas.
