Susan Marie Stockton

June 5, 1959 — March 2, 2024

Susan Marie Stockton (nee Lizon), known affectionately as Sue, passed away peacefully on March2, 2024, in Temple, Texas after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 5, 1959, in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. Sue's spirit and tenacity were evident from the start.

Sue was a beacon of love and strength to all who knew her. As a devoted daughter to her late parents, Helen and James Lizon, she learned the values of family and resilience. Her brothers, Mark Lizon and wife Nancy from Modesto, California, Tommy Lizon and his wife from Ridgely, Maryland, and her late brother James Lizon from New Jersey, shared in the joys and adventures of her life.

Sue's legacy continues through her loving sons, Sean Yerger and his girlfriend Lesley Pago of Key West, Florida, and Dustin Viveiros with his wife Courtney. Her grandchildren, Jacob Skinner, Christian Miles-Viveiros, Attikus, and Koraline Viveiros, will carry forward her spirit and memories. Sue's husband, James T. Stockton Jr., remains a testament to their enduring love and partnership.

After her education at Camden County College, NJ, Sue proudly served her country as a veteran of the US Air Force. Her service was a profound period in her life, where she formed lasting bonds and demonstrated her commitment to duty and excellence.

Sue was not only defined by her service but also by her unwavering love for animals. Her numerous fur babies were a source of joy and comfort, and she was known for her compassionate heart in raising them.

In her life, Sue embodied the qualities of being loving, intelligent, and courageous. These attributes shone through in everything she did, from her interactions with family and friends to her hobbies and interests. She was a woman who approached life with an open heart and a sharp mind, always ready to embrace new challenges and offer a kind word.

As we reflect on Sue's life, we are reminded of the words of Helen Keller: " What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Sue's love that has indeed become a part of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Sue's journey through life was marked by her resilience in the face of adversity and her capacity to love unconditionally. Her intelligence was matched by her courage, as she faced each challenge with dignity and grace.

To have known sue was to have known a life rich in experiences, warmth, and genuine care for others. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her remarkable spirit.

Though we grieve her passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived - a life that exemplified the best of human kindness and bravery. Susan Marie Stockton will be profoundly missed, but her light will continue to shine in the legacy she leaves behind.
