Tara Velasquez

January 23, 1998 — January 19, 2024

Tara Velasquez, 25, of Belton, a beautiful young woman who touched the lives of many, left us unexpectedly on January 19, 2024. Born on January 23, 1998, in Lawton, Oklahoma. Her passing leaves behind a void in our hearts that can never be filled.

Tara had a way of lighting up any room she entered. Her infectious spirit endeared her to everyone she met. Her cherished companionship and spunky attributes that made her extraordinary will be missed dearly. She was witty, intelligent, fun-loving, classy, creative, and compassionate. From the twinkle in her eye to her warm smile, Tara had a way of making those around her feel seen and appreciated.

Education played a significant role in Tara's life; she graduated from Belton High School in 2016. She went on to pursue her passion for science at Texas State University and graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry.

Beyond academics, Tara embraced life's pleasures and pursued various hobbies and interests. She held dear the time spent with her family and friends, cherishing every moment shared with them. Nature was a constant source of inspiration for Tara as she marveled at its beauty. Painting allowed her to express her creativity, while antiques fascinated her with their stories from the past. Animals held a special place in Tara's heart as she recognized their innocence and unconditional love. Above all else, uplifting and helping others brought immense joy to Tara's compassionate heart.

To remember Tara's life and honor the memories she created with us, a Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Starting at 11:00 AM at The Vincent Homestead located at 10780 Flint Creek Rd in Gatesville, Texas (76528), followed by a lunch reception.

She is survived by her parents, Dr. Juvencio (JR) and Nicole, who are heartbroken at the loss of their beloved daughter. Tara also leaves behind two brothers, Tony & Nick, who shared countless laughter-filled moments and unforgettable experiences with their sister. Among those who mourn Tara's departure is her grandmother, Barbara Bladin, whose unconditional love will forever be cherished. Additionally, many aunts, uncles, and cousins stand united in their love for Tara.

Tara is preceded in death by her grandparents, Juvencio Sr. and Concepcion Velasquez, along with Jack Bladin, who all loved Tera dearly and unconditionally.

She lit up our lives with her radiant presence. She approached every day with optimism, kindness, and a zest for life that touched everyone around her. As we collectively mourn our loss, let us also celebrate the incredible person she was and the immeasurable impact she had on our lives.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to plant trees in Tara's honor to keep her memory alive in the natural world she loved so dearly. Donations can be made below to contribute to the trees that will be planted.
